Each year The Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup brings together volunteers in all corners of the world.  Last year , over 800,000 volunteers collected over 18 million pounds of trash from 0cean beaches.  In 2016 we can do more.

Come join the wave of  volunteers on the edge of Puget Sound for

Edmonds' first International Coastal Cleanup Day: Edmonds, Washington.

Saturday, September 17th  - check in at 8:30 am at Brackett's Landing, north of the ferry dock.  Wear sturdy shoes or boots, work gloves, and clothing appropriate for the day...rain or shine!

Have a kayak? Boaters can collect  in the water.  Love scuba diving?  Collect underwater and bring it ashore. Want to volunteer but can't walk too far?  Help with check in and cataloging our finds.

All ages welcome.  To volunteer, click here

Be Part Of the Beach story

My name is Ruth and I have grown up boating on Puget Sound and in the San Juans. Mom and Dad would stock the sailboat, tuck my brother and sisters and I into births and take us on marvelous journeys across the green water. Pushed by wind, rocked to sleep at anchor, with days spent puttering in rowboats and poking about in tidepools.

Now I live on the land, in Edmonds, Washington with my great husband and a grand community of friends and wonderful neighbors. As I read and see more about the health of oceans and of our Puget Sound, it was time for me to stop pining, whining and go into action. Here it is. Please join the fun, the collecting, the adventure on International Coastal Cleanup Day.  We will be walking our beaches at the same time as 800,000 other people in the world. Pretty dang cool!
